Minerva Mirabal Takes A Lover

                                                  If it’s kisses
                                    more than wisdom
                        that you’re after, then
            you’d better
pedal your way home,

            she said. The powder-keg                          exploding
                                                                  under our noses
                                                                               every day
                                                                                            a little more
                                    is what we were born
                                                to remember.

                                                           Yeah so
                                                                       maybe since then
                                                                                   we’ve been
            on a tight rope,

but come dictators on dry land
by golly by our snapping gums,

                                            you and I
                                            are going
                                            to rend it.

                                            Come on
                                            baby, let’s
                                            light a match.
