Brooklyn Botanical Garden

The only thing more beautiful
than the joyous splash
of pink and purple rhododendrons
planted next to the cool yellow fire
of the daffodils

is the rainbow
of workers and their families
—Black, white, Latino, Asian—
turned out this brilliant
spring afternoon,

carrying backpacks,
baby carriages, water bottles
and picnic baskets

to behold them.
